This program has been devised to help the women in distress, destitute women, young widows, Poor girls etc. Under this program, we start Sewing centers where we teach skills to sew, paint, Embroidery work, crafts making, Lace making, Sari painting, Pot Painting & making of leaf plates (traditional eating dishes at rural parties). Under this program; the women will be given training for 9 months in a year. After completion of this training, the trainee will have full knowledge of sewing the clothes for the children and women. In villages the people are poor and it is expensive for them to purchase ready made clothes, normally they buy material and give it to a tailor to make their clothes.
The women who get training in our sewing center will be able to start a tailoring shop in their own respective villages.
Missions to the Nations has already started such training centers in different villages and we have already given training to many women in the community and we many of our trainees have had success and are now earning independent incomes from their new skills. In some communities it is traditional for women not to work outside their homes. Under this program the women who have such social customs need not go anywhere, but they do have to have a sewing machine in order to make garments. As the women are too poor and unable to buy the sewing machine sponsors are invited to provide funds to supply a sewing machine and some tools like scissors, measuring tape, some raw material cutting table etc, thus enabling the women to start their own enterprises. We give the training but, if the women are to be successful they need their own equipment. Once the women are able to establish their own tailoring workshops, they can earn at least 100 Rupees per day, thus enabling them to live a modest independent life.
