Under this program, Missions to the Nations select destitute families, un-employed and un-educated youth in villages and towns. Many people are unemployed and their poverty leads to hunger and disease for the whole family. There are many who struggle to get together one meal a day. Missions to the Nations started looking into this problem of such destitute families and have thought of ways in which to help them.

A gift of a RICKSHAW to a poor family will help them to get out of the rut many find themselves in. A Rickshaw can be used to transport people, luggage, and goods from one place to other. With such a tool we can empower poor people to work for themselves and earn 75 to 100 Rupees every day.

With this income, they can live happily and independently. They can meet their family needs such as food, medical, education to their children etc.

MTN has already given some Rickshaws and we found that it provided many with a crucial tool to create self employment with the overall result of providing the poor a sense of dignity and means to support themselves.

MTN have a team of people to build the rickshaws. We purchase spare parts from the wholesale market and have trained people to assemble them. By doing like this, we have reduced the cost of a Rickshaw by about 30%. In each program, we aim to give about 200 Rickshaws.
